THE TIFFANY WINDOWS - TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT GATSBY

Gene Moore, a famous window dresser of the 20th century, amazed me with several window displays he has done. My favorite was a window display he specifically did recently as a tribute to The Great Gatsby. This is my all time favorite book and movie and I feel Gene Moore depicted the time period in a perfectly expressed manner. The Great Gatsby took place during the Roaring Twenties with flappers, the introduction of the bootlegging business, and parties. This window display focuses on the lavish parties that were thrown by Gatsby himself. This is my favorite display because the detailed characteristics of the display tells a story in it’s self of a time when everyone partied and everything came to life. Based on the jewels around the whole display, the elegant patterns, the balance, and the expensive champagne symbolizes the glamour and perfection of the rich during the twenties. I enjoyed how eloquently he captured the essence of the time period but most importantly of the story itself.
